The Fifteenth National Convention on Women’s Studies was held on the 2nd and 3rd of December 2016 during the 16 Days Activism Campaign against Gender based Violence.  The Convention was supported by UNFPA, UNHCR, UN Women and the Asia Foundation. The theme for the Convention was gender based violence  – in all its manifestations.

The Chief Guest was Dr. Hiranthi Wijemanne, former Vice Chairperson, UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. Mr. Alain Sibenaler, Representative UNFPA Sri Lanka  inaugurated the Convention  and Ms. Leelangi Wanasundera, Director CENWOR welcomed the invitees.  The Keynote Address delivered by the Executive Director of Partners for Law in Development, New Delhi, India.
